Accreditations
Certas are proud to have a number of accreditation’s in areas such as Environmental Management, Quality Management and Energy Management.
Business accreditation’s give assurance to a variety of stakeholders that the business is meeting high standard in various parts of its operations. These accreditation’s are not legal requirements but they are being increasingly demanded as an externally verified confirmation of confidence in the way that Certas operates.
Certas Lubricant Solutions has achieved the following and continue to monitor and improve based on recommendations:
- ISO 14001 (Environmental Management)
- ISO 9001 (Quality Management) Renewal
- ISO 50001 (Energy Management)
- BITC Corporate Responsibility Index
Responsible business check-up
In 2016, Certas renewed its Community Responsible Business Check Up. BITC is a business-led charity focused on promoting responsible business practice. We worked with them to identify and develop responsible business practices wherever we operate.
Overall Certas Energy UK Ltd scored 81% and against all participants, were ranked in the 1st quintile.
The Responsible Business Check Up is a gap analysis and benchmarking tool that helped us evaluate and develop a strategic approach to corporate social responsibility, within the key areas of community, colleagues, suppliers, products and services and environment. The Responsible Business Check Up is a management tool and benchmark of responsible business practice for small organisations. It was developed to support organisations in improving their social and environmental performance, whilst providing a systematic approach to managing, measuring and reporting the various impacts that organisations have on society and the environment.
The questionnaire is divided into sections covering key CR management areas (Community, Employees, Suppliers, Products & Services and Environment), which are individually weighted.
Workplace
We recognise the importance of all our colleagues, and that their health and well-being is vital to the success of the business – this has culminated in our Safety F1rst initiative. We will make sure that all our workplaces meet the Health and Safety Executive’s standards.
We promote equal opportunities for all staff, regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity.
We actively support the professional and personal development of all our colleagues. They receive clear information on career progression information and have clear personal development plans, supported by a range of learning and development opportunities.
Local communities
We aim to have a positive effect on the local communities we work in.
We support a variety of local and national charities. We also actively encourage colleagues to do volunteer work, which brings a number of benefits to local communities and also the personal development of our people.
Certas Energy have partnered up with The Oliver King Foundation as part of the company’s corporate giving and community investment strategy.
After becoming a corporate partner of the charity in December 2012, Certas Energy enhanced its involvement in early 2013 with a series of hands-on, fundraising and awareness initiatives.
